As a practitioner, you can offer three types of consultations:
- Email advice – the patient sends you a written question via a secure form
- Video consultation by appointment – a scheduled video call in a time slot the patient books
- Online walk-in consultation – also a video consultation, but instead of booking a slot the patient checks in and can start the consultation immediately (if you have this option switched on)
You set your availability in the calendar, choosing which time slots are open for each consultation type and defining the average duration per appointment.
When a patient books, you receive a notification with their name, the completed form and if applicable, the AI check result, so you are fully prepared for the consultation. Patients can view all their booked appointments in their personal account.
During a video call, you can see the AI result in the EMR, shown in split-screen alongside the consultation room.
If a patient wishes to cancel, they can do so themselves and you’ll receive a notification. Because payment for video consultations is only taken just before the patient enters the waiting room, no one is charged for an appointment they don’t attend. So there’s no need for complicated refunds.
Good to know:
- For video consultations (both by appointment and walk-in), the patient is charged online at the moment they enter the waiting room; not at the time of booking.
- For email advice, the patient pays online in advance, at the moment they submit their question.
